In these uncertain times, we feel truly blessed. We are filled with faith, not fear. We feel hopeful, not hopeless. We know it takes a lot of effort, but we are willing to give it our all. Here are some advantages our school has that we are so proud of and grateful for:
- Small class sizes
- Makes classroom management so much easier
- As kids deal with social emotional issues, it is easier to give individual attention for their individual needs
- Easier to manage movement of kids from one class to another with supervision
- Able to provide a variety of activities to engage students
- Faithful, well-mannered and obedient students
- Classes attend mass on alternate weeks, watching it virtually in class on the other weeks
- When we put guidelines in place, our students follow them
- Our students are very respectful of adults and authority
- Our students are enthusiastic learners
- They make great leaders
- Academics
- We are still learning new material, having tests, doing projects
- Teaching necessary skills
- Faculty
- Cooperative
- Highly qualified
- Very experienced
- Deeply caring
- Administration and management
- A knowledgeable and hands-on principal who always has her finger on the pulse of the school
- Management plans ahead meticulously and follows through on them
Educational institutions across the Metroplex struggled over the summer to come up with plans that could work to open schools. We did too. After much deliberation and thought, we came up with a plan and it is working. Here is the proof:
- We opened on time on August 12 and have stayed open.
- We provided dividers for the lower grades, shields for the teachers, and mandated masks – and it is working. The children are provided regular restroom breaks, water breaks, and mask breaks.
- We required eating in homerooms and the kids have not only got used to it, they are actually getting to know each other better.
- We required playing in their class groups at recess, and after a few adjustments, the kids are having fun.
- We are still offering specials such as PE, music, art, and computer
- With mindful cleaning, all our classes are rotating through the library once a week
- We offered parents the option of online learning for those who needed it, and barring a few technical hiccups, it is working.
